Respa is a backend service for reserving and managing resources (e.g. meeting rooms, equipment, personnel), allowing for easy searching and filtering of resources based on resource type, purpose, location and availability.

User interfaces for Respa developed by the City of Helsinki are Varaamo, Huonevaraus, the reservation touchscreens of Central Library Oodi and the now-defunct Stadin Tilapankki. The City of Hämeenlinna has developed a Berth Reservation UI and backend on top of Respa.

There are two user interfaces for editing data: Admins may use the more powerful Django Admin UI - other users with less privileges may use the more restricted but easier-to-use and nicer-looking Respa Admin UI (see picture).

The API is interoperable with the 6Aika resource reservation specification for the six largest cities in Finland. Respa is used by the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Raahe, Mikkeli, Lappeenranta and Hämeenlinna.
